Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Tuesday afternoon and evening (July 21).
This watch includes Drumheller, Hanna, Richdale, Three Hills, Rockyford and Rosebud.
Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms across portions of Alberta. The main threats will be golf ball sized hail, damaging wind gusts in excess of 100 km/h and heavy rainfall (up to 50 mm).
A low pressure system in southern Alberta will focus the development of thunderstorms this afternoon and this evening, these thunderstorms will have the potential to become serious.
